My re-selling journey.

Hi, I’m Mat. In 2008 when I was 16 years old, I bought MP3 players for $4.20 and sold them on eBay for $49.95. That was my first introduction to reselling. I turned a part-time high school hustle into a business that was tracking to do six figures in sales. My love for re-selling was born.

Fast forward 16 years, I’ve started and sold multiple companies and currently run a semi-automated SaaS that pays all the bills. After scaling my current business for so long I needed an entrepreneurial outlet. I decided to go back to my re-selling roots, but this time go old-school. I didn’t want the hassle of importing pallets of items (been there), I didn’t want to manufacturer my own product (done that), I wanted the thrill of the hunt. There is nothing more exciting than rocking up at a garage sale and seeing an item priced for $1 when you know that it’s worth one hundred times that.

So how on Earth do you know what to buy to make money? Getting started re-selling sounds easy, but it’s not that simple. You turn up to a yard sale or a thrift store and all of a sudden you see hundreds of items, all priced differently. What sells quickly? What doesn’t sell? Where are the hidden gems? What should I buy? When I was starting out I wish I had a resource that answered these questions. That’s why I created Flip Weekly.
